On February 28th and March 1st, 2025, a delegation from the Vietnam Society of Interventional Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (VIGES), including Dr. Nguyen Hoai Nam (Vice President of VIGES, Deputy Director of the Gastroenterology - Hepatology Center, Bach Mai Hospital), along with three other members: MSc. Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong, MSc. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung, and Bachelor of Nursing Hoang Minh Vuong, attended the Siriraj-Nagoya Seminar 2025 at Siriraj Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand.
Within the framework of the conference, the delegation introduced the establishment of VIGES on January 4, 2025, led by its president, Associate Professor Nguyen Cong Long. VIGES was founded with the mission of connecting, training, and developing the field of interventional gastrointestinal endoscopy in Vietnam. The association brings together leading experts, doctors, and researchers, aiming to improve the quality of treatment, update new technologies, and promote professional cooperation.
The Siriraj-Nagoya Conference provided VIGES with an opportunity to showcase the development of gastrointestinal endoscopy in Vietnam and strengthen international cooperation. The delegation listened to presentations on advancements in gastrointestinal endoscopy, including endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and treatments for early-stage gastrointestinal cancers.

In addition, the delegation also had the opportunity to visit the Endoscopy Center of Rajavithi Hospital, one of the leading endoscopic medical facilities in Thailand. This was an opportunity to learn and exchange experiences on advanced endoscopic techniques, especially in the fields of endoscopic surgery and gastrointestinal endoscopy.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Professor Hidemi Goto, Professor Thawee Ratanachu-ek, and their colleagues for their unwavering support of Vietnamese healthcare, particularly in the fields of endoscopy and interventional gastrointestinal endoscopy. This international collaboration has contributed to improving the quality of treatment and laying a solid foundation for the sustainable development of gastrointestinal endoscopy in Vietnam.
